“Volunteering has been one of my best decisions: I’ve supported a brilliant cause, enjoyed incredible shows, built confidence, and made real friends.

As an autistic person, meeting people through fun, purposeful work has made connecting easier. I’m proud to be part of the team!”  – Cici

From selling raffle tickets to supporting our shows, our volunteers bring energy, kindness and commitment to every event we run.

If you’re looking for volunteer opportunities in London, Cabaret Vs Cancer is always ready to welcome enthusiastic team members to the fold.

Volunteering with our dedicated creatives is the perfect chance to meet new people, get involved with rewarding projects, and raise money for cancer support charities across the UK.

Volunteer front of house at our charity cabaret shows

As well as running our own shows, we also raise money at many of London’s finest burlesque and cabaret charity events. These shows not only bring some of the UK’s finest performers together, but also help us raise money for incredible cancer support charities.

If you fancy helping out in front of house, we’d love to hear from you.

You don’t need any previous experience or training, but good communication and excellent people skills are essential. Although there are no set hours or days, we do ask for regular commitment. (You’ll have so much fun, we’re confident you’ll want to come back again and again anyway!)

Whatever time you’re able to give will make a huge difference to us and the charities we support.

Volunteering FAQs

Which venues in London would I be volunteering at?

We run burlesque and cabaret charity events in various locations across London. You can help us out at Walthamstow Trades Hall, Wilton's Music Hall, Clapham Grand, and Royal Vauxhall Tavern.

Is it possible for Cabaret Vs Cancer to cover my travel when I volunteer?

We may be able to offer reasonable travel expenses, so please feel free to get in touch to have a chat about this.

What do I wear?

Our volunteers have the option of wearing a Cabaret Vs Cancer t-shirt, sash, or apron when volunteering at events, this makes them recognisable and increases confidence. We also ask that volunteers wear one of our pronoun pins. Other than that, comfy shoes are a must!

I’m not sure I can commit to regular volunteering, but I really want to support Cabaret Vs Cancer. How else can I get involved?

We understand that in-person volunteering isn’t always possible for everyone. We’re truly grateful for any support you can offer, so if you could share our events and social media posts, and generally help spread the word, that would be fantastic!

Are there any volunteering guidelines I need to be aware of?

We expect our volunteers to behave with kindness and respect at all times. Please see our full Code of Conduct for more details on expectations when volunteering at one of our events.

It’s worth noting that audience members may sometimes want to talk about their cancer journey or their experience of grief and loss.
