This June, we're so proud to be able to award £17,560 in grants to cancer support charities.
At Cabaret Vs Cancer, our mission is to kick cancer in the d**k! And one of the best ways we can help do that is to raise money for incredible cancer support charities across the UK.
We're so grateful for every penny donated, and thought it might be nice for you to see where the money goes! So here's a round-up of the wonderful organisations we've been able to award grants to this June.
£2,000 awarded to Daft as a Brush
Based in Newcastle, Daft as a Brush provides cancer patients with free transport to and from hospital appointments. The money you've raised will help the Daft as a Brush team carry out much-needed vehicle maintenance so they can carry on supporting those in need.
£2,000 awarded to OUTpatients
OUTpatients is the UK’s only LGBTIQ+ cancer charity. This amazing organisation offers unparalleled support to LGBTIQ+ people affected by cancer, and works hard to advocate for the community.
£1,560 awarded to Lennox Children's Cancer Fund
Lennox Children's Cancer Fund has been supporting families through incredibly challenging times for over 30 years.
We're so pleased to be able to award this charity with £1560, which will provide three respite breaks for families with a child diagnosed with cancer. This break gives the family the opportunity to create memories outside a clinical setting.
£1,000 awarded to Cancer Research UK
This grant to Cancer Research UK will provide much-needed support to the teams carrying out essential research into cancer.
£1,500 awarded to The Loss Foundation
We are delighted to have awarded a further grant to The Loss Foundation, the UK's only charity specialising in offering support to those bereaved by cancer. The money you helped us raise will help The Loss Foundation keep providing ongoing support and workbooks, as well as dedicated materials for children navigating grief.
£1,500 awarded to Dragonfly Cancer Trust
Dragonfly Cancer Trust is here to help young cancer patients and their families through incredibly challenging times.
Our grants for Dragonfly Cancer Trust are used to support their beautiful memory
boxes.
£2,000 awarded to Cancer is a Drag
Since 2012, the team at Cancer is a Drag has been providing financial support to those suffering hardship due to cancer diagnosis. Our grants are ring-fenced to ensure they help those that need it.
£1,000 awarded to Sage Studios, Leeds
Sage Studios offer a range of complementary therapies in Leeds. This grant will support the team so they can provide free palliative care massages and therapies, both in studio and in the local community.
£5,000 awarded to St Joseph's Hospice
With your generosity, we are able to continue supporting St Joseph's Hospice in Hackney, with funding to help their incredible Child Bereavement team. We've been raising money for St Joseph's for a decade now, and are super proud to say we have now awarded them with a total of £100,000 over the past 10 years!
Among other initiatives, these grants have helped St Joseph's provide almost 1,000 "Snorky" Elephant Kits to children and their families. Each therapeutic toolkit is hand-tailored, meaning the world to the child who receives it.
How you can help us raise more money for cancer support charities
Your generosity has enabled Cabaret vs Cancer genuinely make a real difference to the lives of others. Since 2014 we have awarded £479,740 to support those dealing with a cancer diagnosis, or supporting those navigating grief and loss.
2026 is our 10th anniversary of being a registered charity, and we have set ourself an ambitious target to reach £500,000... These grants leave us just over £20,000 away from our target, and with YOUR help we can do it!
