We walked over hot embers! Check out our 2026 charity firewalk
18 feet, 668℃, and a group of 19 dedicated participants ready to brave the flames!
On the 11th of October 2026, we gathered at the Signature Brewery in Walthamstow, ready to hotfoot it over 18 feet of burning embers and raise all-important funds for cancer support charities across the UK.
And guess what… We walked it not once, not twice, but three times each!

A charity fundraiser like no other
If you’ve been following the Cabaret Vs Cancer story for a while now, you’ll know that we like to raise money a little differently.
Whether it’s a flamboyant cabaret with a line-up of talented rebels or a themed charity auction filled with rare and signed memorabilia, our fundraisers are fun, memorable, and always centred around our aim to kick cancer in the d*ck.
And our 2026 charity firewalk perfectly embraced that rebellious spirit.
We donned sparkles, kicked off our shoes, and marched proudly (and swiftly) across the walkway — which, incidentally, glowed at a toasty temperature of 1236℉ (668℃).
While the walkway was being prepared, we were treated to some fabulous entertainment to get us all in the spirit and bring a real sense of atmosphere to the occasion.

Mindset matters
Before taking part in the firewalk, many participants had the same questions… Are we really walking across burning embers? Surely there’s some form of trickery?
But as we can attest to, our feet really did come into contact with the embers — no trick of the light. What we did do before the walk was take part in a fantastic mindset session led by Blaze, our firewalk facilitators.

Through some mindset exercises (and a bit of guidance on what pace to walk at), we got ourselves feeling strong, powerful, and magnificent!
Ready to take on the challenge, we gathered around the walkway, and one by one, we made our way across the glowing path.
There was so much love, support, and celebration as each participant was cheered and encouraged.
After walking THREE times across the glowing path, we left with sooty feet and a real sense of accomplishment.
"Stepping off the embers and back onto cool ground, the residual heat radiating from my skin anchored me in a profound new reality. This experience fundamentally flooded me with an enduring sense of hope, proving that even the most intimidating, fiery obstacles can be traversed when driven by purpose."
- Mac, a brave firewalk participant.

Thank you to our wonderful charity firewalk supporters
Whether it’s a diagnosis, a loved one going through treatment, or the heartbreak of loss, cancer affects so many lives.
As one firewalk participant said:
“I took part in the charity firewalk in memory of my beautiful mum who passed away three years ago from ovarian cancer. She was always dancing barefoot (if not over hot embers!) so it seemed like a fitting way to honour her incredible spirit and raise money for such a great cause.”
We’re all so grateful for the sponsorship donations and encouragement kindly given by friends, family members, and colleagues — both before the firewalk and since the event.
We’ll be announcing the full figure raised very soon, so watch this space! You can also find out more about where the money goes by reading about the cancer support charities we provide grants to.
